Adelaide Fringe is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Fringe Forward Grants, offering vital funds to help independent venues participate in the 2025 festival season. Thanks to partnerships with Novatech Creative Event Technology and Lumo Energy, this second round of funding will provide $140,000 of cash and in-kind support to help cover operational costs, staffing, and accessibility improvements.

The Fringe Forward Grants are a key part of Adelaide Fringe’s mission to support the arts community year-round. The grants target independent South Australian-owned venues and aim to ease the financial strain amid ongoing economic challenges.

For their second year, Novatech Creative Event Technology will offer the Novatech Innovation Grants at a total of $100,000 in support through both cash and in-kind services, encouraging innovation and technical excellence within the venue community. Novatech’s contribution will bolster emerging venues with resources for cutting-edge productions. This opportunity is open to both brick and mortar and pop-up venues managed by Australian and/or international operators.

Director of Sales & Marketing at Novatech Ashley Gabriel said, “Our commitment to fostering creative growth at the Fringe through this fund reflects our belief in the power of technology and innovation to elevate the arts. We see this as an opportunity to not only support emerging venues but to help them push the boundaries of what’s possible in performance. By providing both financial and in-kind support, we’re excited to enable venues to deliver world-class experiences that captivate audiences and drive the evolution of the arts in South Australia.”

Applications for the Fringe Forward Grants open on 24 September 2024 and close on 14 October 2024. Venues hosting multiple shows during the 2025 Fringe season are encouraged to apply.

Director and CEO of Adelaide Fringe Heather Croall AM said, “With the generous support of Lumo Energy and Novatech, we are ensuring that independent venues can flourish and bring the spirit of the Fringe to life in 2025 and beyond. These grants not only provide vital financial relief but also empower independent venues to elevate their offerings and foster creativity. Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient arts community that continues to inspire and engage audiences long after the festival ends.”
