RAA StreetSmart High | Novatech Event Technology Supporting Road Safety Education

Novatech was proud to support RAA’s StreetSmart High, a powerful road safety initiative held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena in Adelaide, South Australia, designed to educate and empower young people to make safer decisions on the road.

Bringing together thousands of secondary school students, StreetSmart High uses real stories, demonstrations and shared experiences to highlight the consequences of road trauma and the importance of safer driving behaviours. Hearing directly from crash survivors creates an especially powerful connection with students, reinforcing the importance of remaining focused behind the wheel, limiting distractions and understanding how everyday choices can have life-changing consequences.

For an event carrying such an important message, ensuring every student could clearly see, hear and engage with the content was central to the technical delivery.

As a one-stop-shop event technology supplier, Novatech brought the event’s technical disciplines together into one coordinated production solution, helping RAA maximise the impact of each presentation while maintaining a consistent experience throughout the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena.

A central in-the-round LED screen formed a key visual focal point within the Arena, displaying live video of speakers and crash survivors as they shared their experiences. This allowed students throughout the venue to see the emotion and detail of each presentation, helping create a stronger connection between the audience and the stories being told.

Timed roll-down screens were deployed during personal stories, displaying magnified, close-up camera images of crash survivors as they shared their experiences. By bringing the presenters’ expressions and emotions into focus, the screens ensured students throughout the Arena could connect with the individuals behind each story. Appearing only during these powerful moments, the screens helped reinforce the gravity of the messages being shared, demonstrating how thoughtfully integrated event technology can evoke emotion, deepen audience connection and amplify the impact of important messages.

Novatech provided a system designed to deliver clear and consistent speech coverage throughout the venue, ensuring presentations, interviews and personal stories could be heard and understood by students wherever they were seated. With the full technical production delivered through one coordinated team, RAA could focus on the content and delivery of the event without the need to manage multiple technical suppliers, while Novatech maintained consistency across each element of the production.
